France, 1980. A former horsemeat butcher is struggling to survive. Having abandoned his autistic daughter, he moves to Lille with his pregnant mistress, hoping to start a new life. His hopes soon turn bitter; the bitterness becomes obsession then violence. He returns to Paris to start over once again. But jobs and friends are hard to come by. Penniless, only one thing spurs him on: vengeance.
